They just don't like it, or trust it, or believe in it -- all emotional responses. In no other area of business are decisions allowed to be based on emotion. What real reason does your boss have? Do you have to be available to provide some physical service like massage therapy that you couldn't provide remotely? I'm betting not :)

Re: Going Green: Telecommuting

Good points, good post. And telecommuting is just cool and makes life convenient when you have kids.

WeaselMommas last blog post..On A Lighter Note

Re: Going Green: Telecommuting

Great post! I couldn't agree more with you. We're really lucky that Favorite's job allows him to telecommute (job in Atlanta, live in Knoxville)! It really is as good as you think it would be, yet there are a couple of drawbacks for him - like being "at work" all of the time and not being up to date on office happenings. But he says it's totally worth it!

The whole movement started out there in Cali didn't? I hope you get to switch one day...I think you'd love it.

Avills last blog post..Endless Summer

Re: Going Green: Telecommuting

I "digged" this post as think it is really great: http://digg.com/people/Tips...
